The sudden popularity of Acai product has created such a hype that food product manufacturers are trying to produce some or the other Acai product. We, being the consumer or the end user always want the best value for our money. But how do you know which acai berry product is the best? I spent a good amount of time researching about Acai berry before I ordered one for myself. Here are a few tips you should know before buying any Acai berry product.

1. Acai berry has a very short shelf life. It should be processed within 24 hours of harvesting. Make sure that it has been packaged within that time frame. Reputed manufactures provide this information on the label itself.
2. Acai berry should be freeze dried. It should be flash pasteurized which does not involve high temperature, therefore all the nutritional values of this fruit remains intact. There is another technology called spray drying which involves heating the acai essence at high temperatures. Once it is exposed to high temperature its nutritional properties are gone. Try to find out this information before buying.
3. It should not contain too much filler and chemicals. Though some preservatives are required for packaging, it should be as less as possible.
4. The moment you notice a lot of artificial flavor enhancer like too much sugar or stimulants like caffeine, be alarmed that what you are paying for may not be pure acai. Acai itself is an energy booster therefore does not require too much additional additives.
5. Make sure that the antioxidant levels are indicative of its percentage that it retains after it was packaged and not of Acai in general.

These are a few tips so that you get what you are paying for. You can always order online which is the easiest and safest method to purchase an Acai product. The more you try to find real Acai product in your local market, the more confusing it will become.
